Diabetes. That’s what the doctor told me.
I’d gone to have a revolting sugar drink to check how my body coped with sugar overload. Badly!
The result was pretty bad. I’d had symptoms, such as needing to urinate often and at night. Which I’d put down to the fact that I was drinking so much (another symptom!). It was only after I started needing to go the toilet very often that I decided something needed looking at!
Diabetes? How could I have diabetes?
I’d always been relatively active and slim. But as I’d got older over the years I’d put weight on gradually until I was something like at least 3 stone overweight.
Anyway, now the issue wasn’t why I’d got it. It was how to control it so I could reduce, or hopefully eliminate, the effects diabetes has on your life.
Obviously with diabetes your blood sugar control goes crazy if you’re fat. So I realised that I needed to slim down.
I investigated piles of books and online stuff about diabetes and discovered one that suggested I simply leave out pretty much all the fat from my diet.
Hmm. I thought, that’s certainly much better than the Atkins diet as I wont have to stuff myself with lots of stuff I don’t like.
Plus, as soon as I’d come off the Atkins diet I’d instantly (well within a few months) put all the weight back on!
Plus the book gave me what seemed a reasonable explantion as to why having too much fat in your dietwas bad.
I definitely had too much fat, I love fish and chips. Which I bought from a chip shop. And of course there was plenty of fat there!
The book told me I was basically clogged up the cells. That meant they could get the insulin in to reduce the amount of sugar flowing around my system.
So I dcided to nearly scrap fat from my diet. I also realised I needed to do more exercise.
After about 8 months my blood sugar was well under control, although I still had the occassional high reading if I ate something that converted to sugar quickly.
Plus I also lost a pile of weight. I lost around 2 stone and kept showing my wife how my trousers now simply fell off me!
To maintain this I needed something that would continue to burn the excess fat I had.
I looked back on the Internet and found an interesting product that claimed to get rid of fat quickly.
What do you think?
